Lavalava is the Samoan word for a 2- to 3-yard length of cloth used as a wrap or tie, or to belt garment on men and women. In Hawai‘i, this garment is sometimes called pa‘u, kikepa, or pareu, but it can also be used as a bundle wrap, beach mat, curtain, bed cover, and more.
DESIGN: This tangerine on magenta design pairs the spikey leaves of the ‘ie ‘ie plant with the voluminous curves of the ‘ipu heke.
